Outfit Post & Sweater Love

Wearing: Old sweater, Old Navy polo dress, Target leggings, Nine West shoes.

I've been wearing the above sweater with everything lately. It used to belong to my mom, but she gave it to me. I love how cozy it is! Worn with penny loafers, you get instant prep.

Oh, and I went thrifting today. I only bought one piece of clothing, but its so amazing! I'll do a post about it later...

Hello all. First, I'd like to thank all of you who partook in the blog award
(previous post). It was so much fun to get to know all of you better!

I've spent this weekend playing around with photoshop (as seen above), and... skiing.
Yes, its snowed. S-N-O-W. Ugh.

A lot of you were interested to find out that I live in Alaska. Its a really beautiful state in so many ways. I see Mt. McKinley almost every day, and the summers are the best. Everything is green, like Ireland. However, the winters are the only downside. It usually doesn't get extremely cold, but there is always tons of snow.

Now I have to go freeze outside and look at the stars. Admiring the solar system is hard when its below zero. Wish me luck!

Headers, Awards, and Pony Tails

Hello. Notice anything different? I made a new header thats quite superfly.

In other news, I got my first blog award. Hooray!

The rules:

1) Thank the person who nominated me for this award.

2) Copy the award & place it on my blog.

3) Link to the person who nominated me for this award.

4) Tell us 7 interesting things about yourself.

5) Nominate 7 bloggers.

6) Post links to the 7 blogs I nominate.

-Thank you Faye for nominating me. You're awesome, and so is your blog!

-Seven interesting things about myself:

1) My favorite sports are Tennis and Cheer.

2) The best TV show in my opinion is "Twin Peaks". I'm totally obsessed with it, and even have an owl necklace.

3) I've been home schooled since Preschool, and yet I don't live on a commune, or wear icky long skirts all of the time.

4) My dream colleges are Rice University, University of Sydney, and University of the Arts London. Not too diverse, huh?

5) I lived in Texas for the first seven years of my life, and then moved to Alaska.

6)  People always tell me I have a southern accent, but I honestly don't think I do.

7) I write a lot of film scripts, but I never finish them.

-Now I'll nominate:

1) Style Bird

2) scrapbook

3) Style hurricane

4) BUY THE WAY BY THE GIRL

5) A photograph a day

6) SAUVAGE

7) Natalie Off Duty

I'm going to watch "Lagerfeld Confidential" now. Fashion needs more egomaniacs with pony tails and little gloves. I'm serious, they make the world go 'round.

"It's just fabulous... Isn't it?"

Lately, I've become obsessed with Chelsea girls, an ingenious Andy Warhol art film.

The split-screens used through out are amazing.

Nico of The Velvet Underground (One of my favorite bands) appears in Chelsea Girls. I have always idolized her nonchalant expression and boy-meets-girl style.

I love how she wore classic mens clothing, like white suits, and still looked very feminine. Next to Edie Sedgwick and Audrey Hepburn, Nico will always be top on my list of the best dressed.

art of the heart

Prepare to get lost in translation - its Japan Fashion Week! Actually, today is the last day of it. But its never too late to enjoy these truly amazing works of art known as clothes. I present to you style at its finest.

beautiful people Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection:

Hidenori Kumakiri's collection is my favorite. I love the deconstructed preppy staples!

ato Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection:

So dreamy and surreal.

MISS ASHIDA Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection:

Totally kawaii. The dresses remind me of something you would see in a '90s British royalty magazine.

GUT'S DYNAMITE CABARETS Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection:

Very punk/goth.

How can you not love Japan after seeing those collections?!?

Wearing: Cirque de Soliel shirt, Gap skirt, and Target leggings.

Aside from gapping over those collections, and watching foreign films, I have no plans for today. Sounds like the perfect Saturday to me.

RUNAWAY RUNWAYS

Hello there. I'm just browsing the new ready-to-wear collections. I must say, all of them are stunning! Below are some of my favorites I thought I'd share.

Kenzo spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection:

I want this swim suit sooo badly. Or is it a leotard?

This is my dream hoodie.

Basso & Brooke spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection:

LOOK AT THOSE PANTS!!!

John Galliano spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection:

My favorite dress of this collection. There is something about the combination of light yellow and brown with lavender that knocks me out.

Fantastic, no? If I had to choose the collection I'm most smitten with, it would be Kenzo's. I love the huge coats, flouncy dresses, and crinkly bags!

I must go now. Homework awaits :{
